Lent Course

Parish Of Acton

St Mary’s and All Saints

“Scarred by Struggle, Transformed by Hope”

with Sister Joan Chittister OSB and Rev. Nick Jones

Introduction to the Course

Everyone goes through times of pain and sorrow, depression and darkness, stress and suffering. It is in the necessary struggles of life, however, that we stretch our souls and gain new insights enabling us to go on. Building on the biblical story of Jacob wrestling with God and our own stories of life-changing disappointment, the course explores the    landscape of suffering and hope.

What to expect

Good company; refreshments; a short DVD on the theme; discussion; a reflective exercise; materials for reading and reflection inbetween sessions.
