About Us
Meet our PCC
St Mary’s is part of the Church of England and is led locally by its clergy and the Parochial Church Council (PCC). The PCC is made up of elected members of the congregation, together with churchwardens and clergy, who share responsibility for the mission and ministry of the parish.
The PCC looks after the practical and spiritual wellbeing of the church, including oversight of worship, safeguarding, finance, buildings, and community engagement. Together they ensure that St Mary’s remains faithful to its calling, transparent in decision-making, and a safe and welcoming place for all.
Each year, members of the congregation are encouraged to stand for election to the PCC or to attend the Annual Parish Meeting, where key decisions are shared and celebrated. This way, the whole community plays a part in shaping the life and future of St Mary’s.
The PCC is responsible for:
- Supporting worship, prayer, and discipleship
- Ensuring safeguarding and care for all
- Overseeing finance and stewardship of resources
- Caring for the church buildings and grounds
- Guiding mission and outreach in the community
- Encouraging the whole congregation to share in decision-making
